COBSE grants membership to Delhi Board of School Education

The Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) issued equivalence certificate to its examinations and certificates with other recognized boards to the newly established Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE). With this, Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) is all set to affiliate Delhi schools, conduct examinations, and grant secondary and senior secondary certificates which shall be treated as equivalent to the corresponding certificates issued by all other recognized boards in India.

This will enable the students from Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) affiliated schools to take admission in other school examination boards and its certificate will be valid for admission in higher education institutions across India and abroad. Manish Sisodia said, deputy chief minister of Delhi "Collaboration with International Baccalaureate opens world-class opportunities for our children. With COBSE and AIU approvals, the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) is all set to transform learning assessment." On the grant of Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) membership to Delhi Board of School Education, Secondary and Senior Secondary Examinations conducted and certificates issued by it would have equivalence to the corresponding certificates of all other member-boards of COBSE. Earlier, the Governing Council of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), an inter-university organization that acts as a representative of universities in India, 'approved the proposal of Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) and decided to 'give equality to Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE), Delhi, with Central Boar Secondary Education and other recognized state and international Boards conducting examinations in India.

With these authorizations in place, students passing out from Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) schools will have entire acknowledgement, recognition and acceptance, same as the certificates issued by the Central Boar Secondary Education (CBSE) and other recognized state Boards functioning in India.

The mark sheets and certificates issued by Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) will be accepted by all the recognized state and international Boards and Universities. In the current academic year, 30 schools are affiliated with Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE).

In future, all the Delhi government schools will be affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) which has started functioning in collaboration with International Baccalaureate (IB). Besides, the recognized private schools in Delhi too will have the alternative of affiliating themselves with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE).
